Zebra longwings

Heliconius charithonia

Description:

These are butterfly larvae from La Fortuna de San Carlos, Costa Rica. I believe the butterflies in the 3rd photo are the same. Could they be heliconius butterflies? http://www.latimes.com/science/scienceno... Maybe Sara Longwings? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sara_Longwi... If anyone knows the species, let me know! Thanks :-)

Hi, the butterfly is Heliconius charithonia. Could you please add the spotting to the mission "Insects of Costa Rica"? ¡Pura vida!
