Zonotrichia albicollis
This male White-throated Sparrow had a black crown with a narrow white center stripe. The sides of the head from the black crown to the top of the eyes is white. There is an orange spot on each side of the face at the base of the bill. The overall color is typical sparrow brown with a gray underside.
This sparrow was photographed in a tree in a city park in Omaha, NE, USA (350 masl).
This was a first for me and it actually cooperated, allowing me to get some great shots. Made my day!!
