A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Pantherophis guttatus
A widespread species in North America, this is a female corn snake. This is one of the wild-type varieties, the Okeetee morph found on the East Coast. Corn snakes, like many other rat snakes were once in the genus Elaphe, but have been moved to Pantherophis. Corn snakes are well adapted to human environments, being found in fields near farms, grain silos, and cornfields due to the high population density of its proffered prey of rodents.
Found all over the US.
