Gold Dust Day Gecko

Phelsuma laticauda

Description:

Green lizard, ~4 inches long, with red and gold highlights. The tip of its tail was cream colored, caused perhaps by molted skin that hadn't sloughed off.

Habitat:

Suburban area on insular tropical upland plateau.

Notes:

Spotted by one of my granddaughters, peeking from behind a picture frame. I captured it, took it outside, released it and took the uploaded images. This is only the second of this species I have spotted in 40+ years of living in Hawaii, and the first indoors.
