Death Cap Mushroom

Amanita phalloides

Description:

Death cap mushrooms have white gills, and a greenish-brownish-yellowish cap. They have white gills, and sometimes a ring around the stem.

Habitat:

I found this death cap mushroom under an oak tree, growing in grass by the side of the street near a school. Death caps can also be found in forests.

Notes:

Death cap mushrooms are the most poisonous mushroom species in the world. DO NOT EAT ANY MUSHROOM UNLESS YOU HAVE POSITIVELY IDENTIFIED IT!!! DEATH CAPS CAN CAUSE KIDNEY FAILIURE, LIVER FAILIURE, AND EVEN KILL YOU!!! It is best to ask a mushroom expert before eating any gilled mushroom.
