PENTATOMIDAE
2mm approximately
In remnant coastal woodlands on a ridge
It fell out of a tree or something and landed on my hand. There was only time for a couple of shaky shots with the wrong hand. Bad image but it is an interesting looking thing so it has been persevered with # round bug that fell on my hand Thanks Mark Ridgeway for helping get the id. Still looking to find which bug and still some doubt

It's certainly a chubby little bug.
revised (tentatively) :-)
Looking more and more like it is tipping your way, some of these first instars look round also
Thanks Mark I would not have known to look there but I am unsure. It does look like them in the photo but this one is round in three dimensions rather than flattened. That face is flat in a vertical sense It may still be a pentatomid but not one that I have seen in nymph form myself yet. I will look into them a little further
With 3 antennal segments and that pattern on the abdomen I think you'd be pretty safe to say it's a Pentatomid bug and possibly a Eucalyptus shield bug hatchling. Check these... http://www.whatsthatbug.com/2008/12/24/u...
nothing yet
It is a strange little thing
Interesting little bug, Stephen !
