Turkey Vulture

Cathartes aura

Description:

I was taking pictures of a blue jay and saw a big black blob out of the corner of my eye. I've waited 3 years to get a good shot of a turkey vulture, and I finally got one! It was perched in low hanging branch and stayed there for five minutes before taking off.

Habitat:

Tree next to a small stream
