Cylindropuntia sp.

Description:

Tall, slender cactus that can have multiple branches with medium spines. Unfortunately it was not in flower to help narrow down the species. I suspect it's Ganders Cholla. The second image shows what dead Cholla looks like.

Anza-Borrego Desert State Park during the superbloom

If you post these photos on iNaturalist.org, you may be able to get an identification from Jon Rebman, who is an expert in the genus Cylindropuntia.
