Thoreck is right that this is a fucoid, it' Fucus spiralis! It looks very similar to F. vesiculosis, but spiralis has these bigger gas sacs that cover the ends of the fronds, vesiculosis has small, round sacs that are more in the middle. In English, the common name is spiral wrack. Cool find!!

I spotted it on the beach, it's quite common here but I don't know it by name. Could it be Fucus vesiculosus?

Possibly a type of algae. Where was this spotted?
