Description:

About 150mm wide, 80mm thick and apporx. 1.6 metres above the ground - coarse reddish brown hair on top, creamy yellow pores underneath.

Habitat:

Appeared in what looks like a deliberate cut into the bark of a messmate stringybark eucalyptus.

Notes:

A very tidy example without the detritus that often collects on top of these. http://www.elfram.com/fungi/fungi_q/post... Also found in NZ and South America.
