Smaller snake sunning itself on gravel road. When felt threatened, besides opening mouth also wiggled end of tail.

Habitat:

Found on gravel road adjacent to freshwater wetlands and ponds.

Notes:

Spotted at Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge, along Autotour.
