Assassin Bug

Description:

about 1 l/2- l/34" long. six legs with black and white striping. body is yellow, yellow/orange. long antenna also black and white striped partway up then solid color to end. head sort of reminds me of an ant head. wings are clear.

Habitat:

found on milkweed plant in backyard garden.

Wow! That was a fast identification, Mark! Thank you! I didn't know we had assassin bugs here in Connecticut. I had never seen anything like this little guy before. I've posted several pictures of it; he's chowing down on something in a couple of them. Is the "drinking straw" like a probiscus?

That's a fabulous little assassin bug. I love its banded legs and 'drinking straw'. :)
