Lesser Goldfinch females vary from dull olive to brighter yellow overall with pale wingbars. They lack the "black cap" that males have.
This female was hanging around a male Lesser Goldfinch before she flew close enough for us to snap her picture. Spotted at Whittier Narrows Nature Center.
