A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Mauritia flexuosa
This is very common in the native vegetation. It's in an area near river sources.
This vegetation zone is called "Mata de cocais" (something like coconut forest) and is a transition between the semi-arid region and amazon. The species are especially palm trees, like Buriti, Babaçu, Juraça, Carnaúba, Tucum etc, all with different edible fruit.
