Jewel Soldier Beetle

Description:

A shiny long Cantharidae beetle. Possibly a Themus kinabaluensis, T. durantoni and T. gracilipes. Also looks similar to the Indian T. lineatofemoralis. Alive but not moving. Shiny green forewings, orange abdomen and thorax. Total body length about 5cm.

Habitat:

Plants of Kundasang highlands, Sabah, Malaysia.

Notes:

I have forgotten where I have spotted this on the way to Kinabalu National Park from Pinausok. Now I have identified it as a Soldier beetle but years ago I thought this was a click beetle or a Buprestidae species. ID help from Boris and Phumaengmai. >>>Map accuracy : 2km radius.
