A bunch of focus stacking attempts that I thoughtweren't good enough for Flickr but are good enough for here :) This is rare fly here, but I guess it's still among the relatively common,well documented ones. I haven't been able to find the exact species, but it seems close to the green bottle fly (?). The only problem is the eyes, which don't match.
The colors have not been exaggerated/played around with.

Woa! That is some very sharp shooting! Love all of them.
Thanks Johan and Dragoon. I thought of the green bottle fly too but I couldn't find any pictures where the two eyes touch each other, like here.

I'd lean towards the bottlefly, since it has varying headshapes at times. Although, it may well be a different species.
