A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Thamnophis radix
Approx. 30-40 inches in length(snake) with beautiful orange stripe down the center of the back with a checkered pattern down the sides.
Found in my flower bed busy trying to swallow one of the many toads we have in our yard.

Thank you everyone for the great comments, Keithp2012: that was either the heart or the lung of the frog, he had a rather large whole on that side. KarenL: yes I definately will add it to both of those missions thanks so much!
Wow excellent!
What is that red object near the snake and toad?
Wonderful capture Christy!
As harsuame has suggested this would be a great addition to the Hunters mission, & would you also please consider adding this to the Sankes of the United States mission http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/1202... as the Center for Snake Conservation is collecting data for research & conservation efforts.
Considera agregarlo ala mission de http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8463...
