Chlorencoelia sp.
This fungus varied in appearance - some were cup-shaped (younger fruiting bodies), while others were flat and disc-shaped (older fruiting bodies). Color varied and included yellow, orange, green, and brown. The undersurface was fuzzy and cinnamon-brown. Sizes ranged from 0.5-4mm wide.
Growing in loose clusters on rotten wood in a deciduous forest.
Microscopic examination is required to determine species. Chlorencoelia torta is probably the ID, but it is not yet confirmed.
This is the first spotting from this genus on Project Noah.
