grizlled gaint squriel

(Ratufa macroura)

Description:

it is a grey squrriel with little brown on the back and a pale white belly.the eyes are black and the tail is thick.

Habitat:

There are three subspecies, all of which are found in Sri Lanka. The subspecies R. m. dandolena (taken from the Sinhalese language name for the Grizzled giant squirrel, dhandu laena) is also found in India.

Notes:

The squrriel is near threatned. In India there is a sancturay -Grizzled Squirrel Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Srivilliputtur, Tamil Nadu, India.
