Anyone here in PN can ID this cicada?!

Thank you so much, S Frazier.
I am still hoping, I just can not find an ID for this type myself, perhaps a PN member would know. I will be patient... : )

Hello. Yes I think we all would like to ID all of our spottings, I have loads that remain unidentified! Cicadas are a very large group (2,500 species). I don't know the specific cicada situation in Costa Rica. If you (or another PN member) don't have access to a specific reference on-line or otherwise, I think it will depend on getting individual expertise. That in turn depends on that expert and your spotting coming together. As Project Noah is now a very large (330+ K spottings and thousands of members) and completely volunteer community it may take some time for this to happen, but at the same time there's probably someone who might have that needed expertise! Be patient, you have indicated that your spotting needs an ID. Hopefully that help will materialize soon!

ID would be appreciated, hoping for it since august... : (

An ID would be appreciated.

Hello. Welcome to Project Noah! I moved this cicada to the group Arthropods. All insects and crustaceans (and even larva like a caterpillar) can be placed under Arthropods even if you don't know what species they are. "Other" is reserved for those organisms that don't fit into their own category available here. Examples would be starfish, snails, worms, squid and jellyfish (plus more). :-)
