Welcome to Project Noah, Orbea Beautiful plant. I hope you like the site as much we do; there are many features you can explore: I invite you to go to http://www.projectnoah.org/faq where you will find the purpose and “rules” of Project Noah. There is a blog http://blog.projectnoah.org/ where we post articles from spotters with special insight into different organisms. There are also the chats for help with identification, and to comment on your own and others’ spottings. Look at the global and local missions to put your spottings into: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions Enjoy yourself here, see you around!
This is very much like a Cactus flower we have in our garden but that has no stem. It is also in a pot and is in my collection. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/118... It looks very similar to the Rafflesia which I'm told also smells ( have very poor sense of smell).

ceherzog, I collect cacti & succulents in general, but am otherwise not that informed about them. This is one of my favorites.

Welcome to project Noah, Orbea. Are you a stapeliad collector? I remember when the genus Orbea was Stapelia.
The stapeliads are among my favorite plant groups (but for the smell)!
