Description:

measurements for the specimen in the first picture- Length of stem 12cm Width of stem .8 cm at apex, 1.5 cm at base. Diameter of cap 6.5cm Gills broad, close, adnexed to notched. Buff to cinnamon in color, mottled darker orange brown. Cap with reddish brown to dark brown scales over disc, background brown and fading towards margin. Fibrous and velvety. Cap surface splitting and lobed in two specimen. Stem dark brown towards the base and lighter at the apex. Lower stipe having dark brown scales, brown fibers. Straw to orange brown at apex. 5% KOH applied to pileus, stem, and context. Flashing dark chocolate brown instantly. Context in base of stem very dark brown. Spores white as shown in microscopy of gills edge.
