Description:

2 cm long. These are the sub-species of Indonesian honey bee (Apis dorsata binghami) which may be found in Indonesian and Malaysia.

Habitat:

A mixed coconut plantation in an urban area.

Notes:

The giant honey bee is collecting nectar from a flower of a bilimbi (Averrhoa bilimbi) family Oxalidaceae (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Averrhoa_bi...).
