Praying Mantis I saw at a butterfly garden in Ohio
Judging by the shape of the head and abdomen and the coloration that can be seen in the last image, I would say that this is most likely a Carolina Mantis nymph (female), Stagmomantis carolina.http://bugguide.net/node/view/4821See what you think!
@ Maria dB...there is a photo of the whole insect in the series except I was using a close up filter and had a really shallow DOF...sorry
