Loggerhead shrike

Description:

Loggerhead Shrikes are thick-bodied songbirds. They have large, blocky heads and a thick bill with a small hook. The tail is fairly long and rounded. They are differentiated from the Northern Shrike by its larger black mask which covers its eyes.

Habitat:

Spotted at the San Luis National Wildlife Refuge.
