Description:

The body is a light gray on the bottom and a black and silver mottled pattern dorsally, split from each other by an orange band.

Habitat:

Inhabits inshore reefs, and usually found at depths between 15 to about 200 feet (5 – 60 m) where it feeds on crustaceans and smaller fishes. Here seen in Angel City coral reef, Bonaire.
