Meadow Mushrooms

Agaricus campestris L.: Fr.

Description:

Twelve cream-colored mushrooms in various stages of development, from emergent through mature to withered, 45-70 mm tall. Caps flat, centers slightly depressed, smooth, 30-60 mm diameter. Stems cream-colored, equal, 10 mm diameter. Annulus remnant noted on mature individual removed for inspection. Gills dark brown-black, close, free.

Habitat:

Suburban neighborhood on insular tropical upland plateau.
