Melospiza melodia
The breast and flanks are gray streaked brown. We see a darker spot in the middle of the chest and on each side of the throat, which is very distinctive. The tail and wings are reddish-brown. The eyebrow is gray. The upper body is brown. In flight, note the tail long and rounded. Both sexes are similar. Eyebrow gray, dark spot on the chest and sides of the throat apart from other buntings, particularly the Savannah Sparrow is very similar.
Lives in forests, parks, countryside and suburbs. Present throughout Quebec south of James Bay.
This one was also waiting its turn for the feeders at the cottage house.
