A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Branta ruficollis
I've seen it in a kind of private zoo and found out, that this bird actually isn't domestic in Germany, but lives in Arctic Siberia and at the Black Sea. Thanks to Ava, who identified it as a red-breasted goose.
Is OK if not native. I want to compile ducks and similar waterfowl that we can observe either captive or in the wild in Central Europe.
Could you add your nice spotting to this mission?

thanks! :-)
Amazing feather pattern! A beautiful bird indeed and lovely pictures too. I would have never imagined it belonged to the geese family. Greetings =)
Now that you've id'd this lovely bird, perhaps you can change the description. You can use content from Wikipedia or Encyclopedia of Life and then add the reference as well.
Welcome to Project Noah, Simone E.. This is my favorite bird, but I've also only seen it in the zoo.
