White-nosed Coati

Nasua narica

Description:

These friendly creatures were wandering over and about the Mayan Ruins at Tikal, Guatemala. There was a huge family of them, and they were completely nonplussed by the human visitors so they must have been used to people.

Thanks, it was fascinating to watch them, as I say they completely ignored me and just focused on sniffing around the roots and dead branches - except the younger ones who were too busy playing.
