Red-winged Starling

Description:

This stunning bird of Starling family (Sturnidae) has mainly iridescent blue-black plumage and appearance, with chestnut flight feathers, easily visible in flight (pic No2) . The female (pics No 3 to 5) has an ash-grey or silver colored head and breast. This is a larger starling, some 30 cm in length.

Habitat:

Seen in group, in acacia woods on shores of soda lake Elementaita.
