About 30 millimeters in length, ovipositor included. Note pronounced "neck" and "ankle weights" on hind legs, both characteristic of these extremely slender wasps.
Wasp was taking nectar from flowers of White Sweet Clover (Melilotus alba). Habitat is mixed coniferous forest with some aspen, alder, chokecherry, and Gambel's oak.
Males of these wasps lack the long ovipositor.
