Small, secretive rail. Gray and brown body with a black face and throat and yellow bill. I was very happy this guy came out and allowed me to get good photos of him!

That's awesome, Hema! Owls are creatures of habit, it likely lives right in that area somewhere! Go check during the day, but look for a darker place it could hide at, they don't like a lot of like. The barn owls I know of sleep under a bridge, man-made structures are always a good place to look!

Beautiful! Maybe one day!
I finally saw a barn owl after 3 years of solid searching!! The rascal is living in a palm tree.I saw it at 9 in the nite!Hard to capture a picture though! i was so overjoyed I kept waving at it and talking to it.My husband finally told me to leave it alone.
