Description:

Males are all red with a pointed crest and a black patch at the base of its beak. Females are Rusty brown with some red on wings and tail. Black patch around red bill. Young are like females only with a black bill.

Habitat:

Woodlands, thickets, gardens, towns

Notes:

Every year they come to my birdseed feeder. They love Suet, birdseed, and sunflower seeds.
