Dragonfly Naiad? on jewelweed leaf
pond and margins
It crawled up there, shed it's skin,and flew away, that's the skin remaining, it's not alive.
That's what I'd read, too. It certainly looks vicious!
Supposedly the dragonfly naiads are quite vicious predators in ponds.
The image of the naiad in the top drawing looks just like it! Thanks!

I believe it's an aquatic bug, and I don't know why it's up on a leaf, waiting for prey.
