Description:

Fruticose lichen. The name rangiformis means reindeer shape maybe because it is similar to C. rangiferina, the reindeer lichen. It presents long branched podetia with green colored areas on a grey-whitish background due to an uneven distribution of the algae. The podetia are sharp ended with dark picnidia and apothecia at the pointed tips of the podetia.

Habitat:

Spotted on the ground, between the moss, in a pine tree and oak forest. Reserva de la Biosfera del Real Sitio de San Ildefonso-El Espinar.
