Description:

Velvety black body with reddish orange wings that are darker and less transparent at tip and base.

Habitat:

Habitat yard on Lake Belton.

Notes:

Adult drinks nectar. Larva feed on tarantula and trapdoor spiders the adult stings and paralyzes, then drags into the nest for the larva to eat.
