Oval Hairy Monkey Beetle

Description:

8mm beetle, brownish with fine hair.

Habitat:

Garden on Hibiscus leaf. Some where also crawling into closed flowers.

My mistake: Ovol should be Oval.

especially on the last picture, it is more clear that the "neck" head area is rounder than sharp

Hi Johan, after carefully examining many pictures and from what I remember, I believe we have the Oval hairy monkey beetle here. The Hairy darkling's nose seems too long. They are all out and about, so I will take some more for you to view.

I see one of two options:
Hairy darkling beetle - Lagria vulnerata : 1st option for me
Ovol Hairy Monkey Beetle - Peritrichia cinerea : nose too sharp
