Description:

About 18-20 millimeters in body length, colored as shown. This was a very small, tattered specimen.

Habitat:

The wasp was sipping nectar from a blooming saltcedar tree (Tamarix sp.) in a vast open field of degraded shortgrass prairie with sunflower, yucca, prickly-pear cacti, and scattered elm trees.
