Longnose Dace

Rhinichthys cataractae

Description:

Small fish, a little over three inches. Sometimes used as bait. They feed on all types of aquatic insect larvae, worms, and algae. Adults tend to stay hidden, while young dace will often congregate in small schools out in the open areas of the stream.
