Limenitis arthemis astyanax
A butterfly that possibly mimics the pipevine swallowtail. Dark blue with a blue iridescence. The reddish-orange spots are variable on the outer tips of the top of the forewings.
Spotted on a gravel road at the Bald Knob NWR in Arkansas. Open meadows and deciduous forest nearby.
