Feathery Black Coral

Description:

This coral is home to a few Winged Pearl Oysters and a Yellow Hyrtios sponge. This coral is growing from the ceiling of a small cave.

Habitat:

Coral reefs at depths from 40-200+ feet in the open, in caves, or overhangs.

Notes:

This coral was actually seen off the Northern shore of the island of Ni'ihau near Kauai, Hawaii. The location finder does not recognize Ni'ihau.
