Spotting

Description:

Almost half an inch long with brown and greenish markings. It has six legs just on the front end and large pinchers/mandibles. We have watched it stalk and capture mosquito larvae. Perhaps some predatory diving beetle?

Habitat:

Found in what's left from the recent drought of a nearby creek.
