Description:

The bushbrowns, Mycalesis, are brush-footed butterflies. The occurring subspecies in Luzon Island in the Philippines is the Mycalesis perseus caesonia Wallengren, 1860. They are notably polymorphic, with wet- and dry-season forms differing in many species, especially as regards size and number of underwing eyespots.
