Bald Eagle

Haliaeetus leucocephalus

Description:

In the winter and spring, thousands of eagles come to town looking for food. I think they follow some fishing boats in from the mainland. In the last photo, every single bird you see is an eagle. These photos show a couple adults and several juveniles. The juveniles not only have different feather colors, but they also have brown eyes. As they get older, their eyes turn white or yellowish. You can see in photo 5, one is fully brown with brown eyes.

Habitat:

Near a fish processing plant by the harbor
