White Bristle bush

Metalasia muricata

Description:

The white bristle bush is a greyish, rounded, sturdy shrub (2-4 m) that is found in coastal to mountainous regions of southern Africa. Although not formally divided into subspecies, there are a number of different forms occurring in different areas of its wide geographical distribution. One of over 8500 species of Fynbos found only in the Western Cape South Africa.

The picture on that web page shows the flowers a bit more apart than this one, and there where allot of these around, taken off Noordhoek beach on the peninsula, but I got that link for the Fynbos book and Ill also see what other books I can find. I would really love if we can have every species as close to the correct ID as we can. There are almost no good pictures and info on the net, I feel we should do the best we can - while also having lots of fun and learn and teach each other! Ill keep this one in mind. Absolutely love all your pics so far Wendy! Well done!

I'm thinking Metalasia densa...this is the thing with fynbos!!!

Would you say this one? I agree with Metalasia, although this site says Mealasia muricata?
