Description:

Multibranched plant with toothed, pinnately-divided leaves. Flowers are bright yellow with some brown in the center. These plants usually produce multiple flowers during the blooming time in late summer. It is not uncommon to see these growing on the side of the road. This plant is native to a bit more than more than the eastern half of the United States.

Habitat:

Temperate woodland, trailside. Rockwood Park, Virginia.
