Coprinellus sect. Domestici
Shaggy, orange to gold fungal ozonium (mycelial mat). Some Coprinellus species lay down bright orange to rust colored mycelial mats called ozonium. Fruiting bodies are capable of erupting from this mycelial mat. This display is typical of both Coprinellus domesticus and radians, however, species level identification requires microscopy.
Growing on the underside of a hardwood log in a moist brush pile.
