Tibicen canicularis
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tibicen_can...
Found flying around a light near our house. Picture taken when it landed on a nearby tree.
This is an exciting image! 100% Tibicen tibicen australis!
You are on the western edge of subspecies "australis" and se. Alabama is a good place to look! This form is common in sw. Georgia (Decatur & Seminole Co's) and I have seen them in Dothan as well.
This subspecies http://bugguide.net/node/view/262629 strongly resembles several other species incl. T. pruinosus http://bugguide.net/node/view/6967, & to some degree the northern T. canicularis http://bugguide.net/node/view/12461
