Description:

Walking the dogs beside the Ohio river noted this bird perched watching the very misty water for the frequent movement of small fish. Shot on long telephoto (about 120feet from subject) Length:33cm (13 inch) Wingspan 51 cm (20 inch) Resident in Ohio.- It complained when we got closer and made its machine gun call.

Habitat:

Water side (rivers, streams and large lakes) Borrows into river banks for nesting.
